Long Time, No Post

Hello Earthlings!

Wow, it’s been a while. Do you remember that band called Landfall from Houston, Texas? Well they still haven’t finished their album. Seriously! I know, right! I can’t believe it either! If Fury Bear Records didn’t love them so much, they’d be totally dropped in a heartbeat! Of course, then Fury Bear Records wouldn’t have any bands at all, so yeah…

Well, there is news! The very first single from Landfall’s never-ending album is actually finished and released on every digital distribution website you could possibly think of! It’s called “Not Like Me,” and you can find it on iTunes, CDBaby, Amazon, etc etc. If you want to cut out the middle-man we recommend Vibedeck.com.

Happy rocking!

Landfall To Begin Recording Hit Record

July 30th, 2007

In a surprise twist, power-pop band Landfall began pre-production (again) for their latest attempt at recording their debut album. Band members Angela Beyer, Curt Collins, Daniel Means and Matthew Trana converged Sunday night at their rehearsal studio for a two and a half hour marathon session, during which they determined rough song tempos, ran though their set, and did a round and a half of “singer, guitar player, drummer, bass player’s choice.” Recording sessions are tentatively scheduled to begin in early September, and not last for three years, but rather a wishfully-thought out four months. In the meantime, Beyer, Collins, Means and Trana will continue to perform live at various venues in and around the greater Houston metropolitan area.

Going old-school…

January 10th, 2007

I’ve just been listening to my old song demos that I did on Garageband. I realized that I have one of those love-hate relationships with Garageband. I love it, but it hates me. I know it’s because I’m not good enough for it. Well, I’m good enough, but my computer isn’t. I bet it would like me back if I had a G4.

Anyway, thinking about my “old” computer demos led me to remember that back in the day, I used to record my song ideas to my mom’s old reel-to-reel. I might break it out this afternoon and see if I can find my early demos of my mega-power-ballad, “Water Fountains.” If I do find them, I’ll be sure to not post them here for the listening enjoyment of all. :-)
